Red Nose Day at Doddi!

Today, we held our Red Nose event at school. We all came into school wearing comfy clothes – some of us even brought a cuddly in from home too! In the afternoon, we wrote out the jokes that we had brought in from home and took them into our assembly to share with the rest of school. They were very funny! Mrs Wiseman also showed us a video about why it is important to support this charity as it helps disadvantaged people around the world.

World Book Day at Doddi

Today is World Book Day and the children of Doddi School have celebrated in style by dressing up as their favourite book characters. They had a special assembly where they learnt about children in other parts of the world who aren’t lucky enough to be able to access books easily and then had a costume parade where the best costumes from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 were chosen. Our prize winners were Fearne and Violet who both received a book token. Well done to everyone for their fantastic costumes and many thanks to the grown-ups who made them happen!

Pancake day races

It’s been a busy day today here at Doddi, with the inaugural Doddiscombsleigh Great Pancake Race!

Working in our team houses, we’ve been running and pancake-tossing (not easy to do at the same time!) our way across the hall and into pancake history. It was tough race but in the end Belvedere and Drogo were so close that Mrs Wiseman had to declare it a draw.

Great work Doddi pancake racers!
