Forest School Fun

Today at Forest School, we learned about invertebrates, species diversity, camouflage and habitats. The children were especially excited when we made an extra special find amongst the logs. Here are some pictures of today’s finds and of the fun we’ve had over the last few weeks.

Meet Jimmy

This is Oak Class’ pet praying mantis called Jimmy! Jimmy is a giant asian mantis and when he first came to us, he was very small. Just today, we have held him for the first time, and moved him into a larger vivarium. We have been waiting for Jimmy to grow large enough so that we can feed him crickets and introduce him to his new home- we were very excited to do this!
